Imported Talent

Imported Talent is a production company founded by Riva Di Paola in 2011 in New York City.

To date it has produced more than 8 full-length world premiere productions, 2-dozen staged readings and started the monthly play workshop FRESH PRODUCE'd in New York City and Los Angeles.

A first generation Italian-Canadian, Riva was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She is an artist, actress, voiceover, producer and animal-rights activist. She has produced over 40 theater productions and spent 4-years as an in-house TV producer managing production.

Reunions Reunions Reunions at Studio Stage. In development on the digitally interactive gaming-theatre hybrid production, LIGHT. Previously she produced Grow A Pair of Wings by Amelia Phillips at the Lounge Theater, the world premiere of hey brother by Bekah Brunstetter at Son of Semele, TE’A Project’s New York production of Cadence: Home (Off-Broadway), Melanie Marnich’s quirky comedy Quake (Off-Broadway), the staged reading of Brett Dalton's Footprints In The Snow (for the Broadway league producers). Riva worked with Paula Herold (Broadway Producer: Catch Me If You Can, Lysistrata Jones, 33 Variations) on the upcoming Broadway production based on Alexander Payne’s 1996 film Citizen Ruth. In 2011, she founded FRESH PRODUCE'd, a cutting edge monthly series workshopping 3 new plays by 3 new playwrights the 3rd Thursday of every month. It currently workshops bi-monthly in New York City and Los Angeles.

Riva just wrapped production on the short film,
How To Fight. She is in development on EXIT THIS WAY, a 1-hour TV Drama cable show about adult foster children seeking revenge. Previously, she spent four years as the In-House Producer at Imarion Inc. working with major television networks and managing Offline to Online production workflow on shows such as Birth Days (Slice), Final 24 (The Biography Channel), Rich Bride Poor Bride (WE tv), Opening Soon (HGTV), Property Virgins (HGTV), One x One Gala (TV Movie), Jackie Mason: The Ultimate Jew (Documentary), Amerika Idol (Documentary) and Keys to the VIP (Comedy Network). She also produced the short film Red Card in association with the New York Filmmakers Group.

Riva has worked as the Publicity Manager for Good Company Theatre, Line Producer for Lombardi Media Group and co-wrote and produced
The Dessert Club (Fringe Festival) which won the Women In Film & Television development grant to create an original sitcom series through SUNtv.

studied at New York City’s Circle in the Square Theatre School on Broadway.
